Emotional Intelligence can account
for 60% to 90% of your success in life. It is more important than your IQ. This session incorporates real data to help you understand and manage your emotional
intelligence.
The term “emotional Intelligence”
has been getting a lot of positive press. There are a number of definitions posed
for this term but I like the one first presented by Dr. Daniel Goleman. “Emotional
Intelligence is the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing
emotions effectively in ourselves and others.” In the old days it was called
maturity. I like to over simplify this definition and say emotional intelligence
means you maintain control of the interaction with another person. Empathy is
a key component for successful relations with other people. Empathy means you
are tuned into the other person and make them feel important. Everyone loves
to interact with the people that make them feel valued, understood and important. I
could only imagine the results sales and business people could achieve if each person they interacted with felt valued.
This seminar is built around the
Emotional Competency Inventory (ECI), a multi-rater instrument designed by Dr. Daniel Goleman, Dr. Richard Boyatzis, Dr. David
McClelland and members of HayGroup, Hay/McBer. Before attending this seminar,
participants complete the ECI. During the seminar, participants are educated
on the competencies that comprise emotional Intelligence, receive their feedback results from the ECI and participant in coaching
triads. The goal is for each participant to develop an action plan based on their
feedback that will help them grow and become more effective in their professional relationships.
